The Apollo 13 crew used their lunar lander - Aquarius - as a makeshift 'lifeboat' to survive the long cold journey back to Earth. How did Apollo 13 get back to Earth safely? Thanks to a monumental effort from the crew, mission control and spacecraft manufacturers helping with the mission, Lovell, Haise and Swigert safely splashed down in the Pacific Ocean near Samoa, on April 17, 1970. In the hours before splashdown, the exhausted crew scrambled back over to the Odyssey and powered it up. The crew also rationed water to make sure Aquarius - operating for longer than it was designed - would have enough liquid to cool its hardware down. Without a source of heat, cabin temperatures quickly dropped close to freezing. So the crew crammed themselves into Aquarius - which was designed for two people, not three - and began the long cold journey home. But Aquarius didn't have a heat shield so it would not survive the reentry back to Earth. Fortunately the spacecraft Aquarius - designed to land on the moon - was still in working order. Oxygen fed the fuel cells in the spacecraft, so power was also reduced.

Swigert had just replaced Ken Mattingly as command module pilot after Mattingly was exposed to German measles. The young ladies would roll their eyes when asked a question. Soon after, my son’s go kart stopped working and the young men (3) had to push his go kart. I wasn’t offered another go kart, a refund, or anything. I wound up getting out and walking back to the entrance. My wife and kids drove around and told the young men that my go kart stopped working but no one came. When I finally got on the track, the go kart stopped working!! I didn’t even go half of the first lap!! No one came to assist me either. The first go kart I got into wouldn’t start so the young man put me in another one that he had a hard time starting up. I didn’t pay for another package and just decided to ride the go karts.
When I went back and told the young lady about and asked if I could get a refund or exchange to another package, she told me that I could not get a refund and that I would have to purchase the other package. The package I bought was for majority of the rides my family wanted to ride. Once we went to go have fun, we found that over half (literally) of the rides weren’t in operation. I asked the young lady at the counter about her packages and after she explained them to me, I picked the package that was best for me and my family.
